Village of Waunakee leaders partnered with the Ho-Chunk Nation through a UniverCity Year project in 2020-21. The collaboration produced a Land Acknowledgment statement to honor the history of the land, plus proposals for educational programs about the Ho-Chunk culture, art installations and environmental stewardship projects.
