UniverCity Alliance seeking Dane County policy analysis students

UniverCity Alliance and the Department of Political Science is looking for one to two students to conduct policy research for the Dane County Board of Supervisors on the Dane County Land and Water Resources Water Recreation Study of Lakes.

The Dane County Board of Supervisors is looking for students to review the Dane County Land and Water Resources Water Recreation Study of Lakes from 2012. Following review of the study, students should prepare survey questions and conduct outreach in the community in person and online to gather responses. The survey should be conducted over the semester with a summary of the responses due by the end of the semester. Outreach to gather responses to the survey should consider accessibility. A presentation of the findings may be given to the Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission.

Minimum qualifications: Students should have at least junior standing to apply. Both undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply.

Compensation: Students will receive a $1500 stipdend for their work or directed study credit if preferred.

Commitment: Hours are flexible, and work can be done mostly remotely. We anticipate that this experience will take five to 10 hours per week and could be done over the course of the spring semester.

To apply: Submit a resume and a cover to Amy Gangl (agangl@wisc.edu) letter explaining related experience doing policy research and why your experience makes you the best fit for this opportunity.

Deadline: Rolling applications through Feb. 9, 2024. We would like to fill the positions as soon as possible.
