The UniverCity Alliance and Department of Political Science seeks two students to conduct policy research for the Dane County Board of Supervisors about two policy issues:

Best Practices for Winter Communal Gardening Programming and Spaces: Survey residents and conduct best practice research about how communal gardening spaces can develop community across the county in the winter.
- Examine if Pay for Success Social Impact Bonds could be relevant for Dane County Human Service programs: The project will identify and assess two to three potential Dane County programs that could be funded with a pay for success financing model, identify outcomes to measure in order to determine success and investor’s return on investment, and identify what system changes (policies or procedures) would be needed to implement the model.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Students should have at least junior standing to apply.
COMPENSATION: Students will receive a $1500 stipdend for their work or directed study credit if preferred.
COMMITMENT: Hours are flexible, and work can be done mostly remotely. We anticipate that this experience will take 5 – 10 hours per week and could be done over the course of 6 – 8 weeks.
