PowerLines, a nonprofit that advocates for utility customers, found that electric and gas utilities requested nearly $31 billion in rate increases in 2025, more than double the $15 billion in rate increases requested in 2024. And electricity prices have increased 40 percent since 2021, while four in five Americans feel powerless over these costs.

Hua will will talk about why utility bills are rising and what stakeholders can do to address this issue during the virtual Weston Roundtable.
