Samuel Adeapin is a UniverCity Alliance Scholar and a senior majoring in environmental
observation and informatics at the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is from Nigeria, where he developed a passion for
environmental sustainability and local community projects. He decided to study at UW-
Madison because he wanted to learn from the best practices and innovations that Wisconsin
has to offer in these fields.

Samuel’s career goal is to become an environmental sustainability professional who can help
communities design and implement solutions that are equitable, democratic, and resilient
through the use of earth observation technologies and mobile technologies. He believes that
the UniverCity Alliance Scholars program will equip him with valuable skills and
experiences that will prepare him for his future career. He is excited to apply his knowledge
and creativity to a real-world project that will benefit a Wisconsin community and contribute
to the Wisconsin Idea.

Samuel enjoys reading, hiking, classical music and volunteering in his spare time. He is also
involved in several campus organizations, such as the Environmental Studies Student
Association and the African Student Association. He is grateful for the opportunity to be a
UniverCity Alliance Scholar and to pursue his academic and professional dreams at UW-
Madison.
