Jackson County is in west central Wisconsin with most of its land located east of Interstate 94 and a population of 21,145. The major industry sectors in the county are trade, transportation, and utilities; education and health; and public administration. The Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin is the single largest employer in the county.
In partnership with the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin, Jackson County applied to UniverCity for the years 2023-26 to address countywide priorities in addition to projects in Black River Falls, the villages of Taylor and Melrose, and with the Ho-Chunk Nation.
