On June 25, UniverCity and Milton staff will celebrate their partnership and the UW 175 anniversary. Join us from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Milton Public Library garden for coffee, pastries, and project highlights. In case of inclement weather, the gathering will take place at Milton City Hall.
Milton is working with UniverCity Year to create a culture of belonging, strengthen community connection, enhance communications, and promote lifelong learning. Several of the city’s projects have focused on Milton youth. In one class, UW-Madison students worked closely with the Milton Youth Coalition and the Substance Prevention Society to create a social media toolkit to help youth navigate the social media landscape. Another project provided recommendations to encourage youth involvement in local government. Public Health students explored ways for Milton to create welcoming spaces for youth.
