Since 2021, Dr. Aubri McDonald and Superintendent Tony Chavez have worked together in a partnership that began with UniverCity Alliance and fostered in the following years by UW-Parkside’s Community and Business Engagement Office.

The partnership focused on increasing access to residential substance use treatment and researching opportunities for creating a sober living facility for women.
Through UniverCity Alliance, the Village of DeForest is addressing natural asset protection and community sustainability efforts in partnership with UW–Madison students.
