UniverCity Alliance aims to be the primary entrypoint to the university when the City of Madison — and local government in general — has a research question to be answered. UCA can direct Madison officials to the right person or group who can respond to questions.
“UCA has a special responsibility to partner with Madison because it’s our own hometown,” UCA Managing Director Gavin Luter said.
The City of Madison and UW–Madison created the UW South Madison Partnership, BadgersVote Coalition, and Neighborhood Indicators Project.
The UniverCity Alliance (UCA) helped launch initiatives such as the Wisconsin Heat Health Network and communicated city priorities like Vision Zero to the university. UCA also supported projects within the city’s Department of Civil Rights and connected the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with city plans.
UCA maintains many of these connections. View this spreadsheet to show just how many touchpoints the university has with the city. Do you know of a project that’s not listed? Email UniverCityAlliance@wisc.edu to let us know!
